HypnoBirthing and Breastfeeding Classes
HypnoBirthing® -The Mongan Method
HypnoBirthing® is a natural childbirth method developed in 1989 by Marie F. Mongan. It is as much a philosophy as it is a technique of birthing gently, calmly and joyfully. When a mother is prepared for birthing physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, she can summon her natural birthing instincts and birth her baby in an easier, more comfortable manner and often, without pain.
The birth companion is prepared through HypnoBirthing to be an integral part of the birthing experience, deeply sharing in the beauty of new life. This program of deep relaxation, self-hypnosis and education brings the mother, baby and companion together in a wonderful prenatal, perinatal and postnatal bonding experience.
With HypnoBirthing, you gain an understanding of how the birthing muscles work in harmony when your body is relaxed and free of fear. You will be fully in control, totally relaxed, awake and aware. In this calm state, your body creates endorphins, a natural relaxant, and prevents the release of stress hormones that cause constriction and pain. You will learn natural ways to bring your body into labor without artificial or chemical induction as well as the gentle birthing techniques that allow you to breathe your baby into the world without pushing prompts thus returning birth to the safe, peaceful experience nature intended. I integrate my amazing HypnoBirthing experiences, L&D Registered Nursing and pediatric experience, and knowledge of local hospitals into my class. The education and support you and your partner have are the most important aspects of preparing for this birthing together.
HypnoBirthing is a five-week series of classes which are 2.5 hours in length each. You will receive a book as well as The Rainbow Relaxation CD and printed handouts. Additionally you will also see DVDs of HypnoBirthing births during the course of the class. Kelly Hightower, RN, CLC has been teaching HypnoBirthing in the Atlanta area since 2008, and has been a nurse since 1996. Come learn this method from the most qualified teacher in town!

Breastfeeding Classes
There is no greater joy and pride than to be able to nourish your baby with breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is natural, but is a learned skill, and many moms benefit from support and guidance when questions arise as relationship between mother and child grows at the breast.
As a Registered Nurse and Certified Lactation Counselor, I can help you both get off to the best possible start whether you plan to breastfeed for three months or three years.
Breastfeeding Classes
Just as childbirth education classes prepare you for what to expect on birthing day, a prenatal breastfeeding class prepares you to embrace your new role as a breastfeeding family. During our one day 3 hour breastfeeding class, you and your partner will learn about:
You will receive a copy of Breastfeeding: A Parent’s Guide, by Amy Spangler, MN, RN, IBCLC, a practical and easy to read reference to keep handy at home.
